This machine came out of my uncles wood working shop. "Wm Rock & Son" which was founded in the last qtr. of the 19 th century. He closed the business in the late 1960's and passed away in 1977. The machine sat idle until my cousin gave me the lathe several years ago. One notable feature is the spindle size: 1 1/8" x 7 tpi. I have not come across any other lathe with this spindle configuration, Oliver is the only mfg. that has used a 1 1/8" dia. however, it has 8 tpi.
