This machine was purchased from the storage shed of a former full time woodworker who used it to half-lap join large architectural columns. He had bought it from a farmer who had it in his barn, before that no info. The experts at the Original Saw Company said the arm was a replacement unit from the 50's when they changed the finish and stopped using sanding and putty to make the castings smooth. It's in the process of being cleaned up and painted for use in my shop. The column is just set in place so the motor weight is resting on a "scrap" piece of mahogany.
