This is the saw I call Bill Simmeth's bastard child.
Bill won this saw and a nice Original R.A.S on a gov. auction and offered them up to the group approx. 2 years ago. I assume due to the fact it was missing the wheels. Sonny and I were the first responders I believe and some how I won out even though Sonny was closer to where the saw was. Sonny was kind enough to pickup saw and store it until we met up. I hauled and stored a Tannewitz bandsaw for him in return. His saw had wheels!
Notice the great paint job.The grey comes off in sheets in places only to show a stately ugly light blue. Under that are 6 other paint layers. Unfortunately it will have to be stripped all the way to rectifiy the painting massacre.
I was going to go back w/ my industrial green but after seeing the J-170 lathes in brilliant white- I may reconsider. Maybe evn adding some chrome accents here and there? Any thoughts Bill???
Doug Westlind has located some wheels which I need to get purchased.
I think I can get it painted sometime soon?

Glenn Williamson and I have a good story to tell about another Y-36 one of these days!
