Comments:
I used to pick up scrapmetal and this lathe was given to me for junk. I am in the process of restoring it. It is shown in the 1937 and 1938 Sears power tool catalog. The ways are hardened and ground 3/4 " diameter steel rods that are bolted to the bed from underneath. There is no model number plate on it and I cant find any trace of one ever being on it. No holes or broken off rivits. So far I have not seen another one anywhere. 1"X8 threaded spindle with left hand threads on outboard end, SKF ball bearing headstock. I am looking for information on this lathe. In the catalog it was offered with optional metal working conversion parts. Consisting of a compound tool rest that had 6 inches of travel 5 inches of crossfeed and 2 3/4 travel on the compound.
