Here's some pictures of the basement where I found this American No.7 1/2 Combination Saw
and Dado Machine.According to the 1917 catalog it was designed for cutting off, ripping, miter and bevel sawing, dadoing, ect.and will be useful in all kinds of wood working shops. It will cut 4'thick and will cut through a 1" board 20" wide. The dado head is 8"diameter and will cut a maximum depth of 7/8" and will expand to take in cutters up to 2" in width. The saw seems to be complete with all fences, pedales and pullies. The saw was cover up with all kinds of debris and I didn't know what was there until we dug it
all out.You can see some of the line shaft and the 36"Oliver band saw(now owned by OWWMer
Don Simpkins). There is hundreds of patterns stored at one end of the basement in floor to ceiling sheving and racks. The other end of the basement was for lumber storage and lumber prep for the pattern makers upstairs. There is saw dust bins under the machines
that are upstairs. There is a combo tablesaw, radial arm and jointer(the jointer is missing)sitting over to the right of the Oliver band saw.A pattern makers work bench sits
near the bottom of the stairs facing out towards some windows.A double set of doors leads to the outside of the basement was how they managed to get the machinery down there. The motor that powered the line shafts sits in a little room next to the Oliver bandsaw(its a huge DC motor).
