I bought this saw in late 2017, finally got the chance to get at it two years later. It is a model 141 made in Tennesse in the early 1970's. With a solid cast iron frame it is extremely rigid as well as heavy. (over 300 lbs)

It had a lot of issues including broken trunnion clamps and missing trunnion hardware. The tension rod for the blade was bent, the tilt adjustment rod was screwed up , the thumb screws for the upper guides were missing as was the table taper pin. The bearings in both wheel hubs were shot as were the ones in the motor. The rubber tires were also gone.

Thanks to a friend who owns a model 143 I was able to obtain new cast trunnion clamps. Made new hardware for the clamps as well as the tilt adjustment and the thumbscrews. Also managed to straighten the blade tension rod. Replaced the bearing for the shafts as well as the four bearings in the guides and the motor bearings. Made a new table taper pin. Replaced the tires with new rubber ones.

As well it got a good clean and repaint. I was surprised at the poor quality of the original paint job as it was it was apparent that it was spray painted after at least some assembly.

It now runs beautifully. The only issue I still have is a belt vibration during the last couple of seconds before the saw comes to a complete stop. The sound is amplified by the enclosed metal base. It may be related to the fact that the new belt has not lost its memory and it may disappear after the belt is run in a bit more. It might also disappear if I were to put on a link belt. I have corresponded with a few other owners and some have the same issue and told me they have learned to live with it so no help there. anyway it is still a great saw. Some would argue that it was the best 14" made. It is a better saw than my 14" Delta but that one is a metal/ wood saw so it is staying while I will move the Powermatic on
