Comments:
First introduced in 1941. Chain drive, worm gear, 1hp. 3X27 inch belt and weighs 23 lbs. In a 1948 Popular Mechanics Magazine ad it cost $149. According to an old letter from Porter Cable the gear chamber takes 90 weight oil and use a "thin" chain grease. This one is an old pawn shop rescue. Did not rebuild but blew out the dust, changed the oil and grease and cleaned the outside. The power cord is an old replacement but in great shape. Runs crazy strong, and the vacuum fan in the back really blows out a lot of air. I have never used it, but love to start it up for people who have never seen one.
