I bought this lathe on an on-line auction. It is very old. I contacted South Bend and they told me it was too old to identify! They also told me the serial number was not a good number. This lathe is an "overhead line shaft drive". There is no model number plate on it. The only identification is a brass plate with the threading gear setup. This plate says that it is a South Bend lathe. I would like to know the model and year built. The current drive is not a very good setup and I plan on installing the motor over the top of the headstock. The back gear and the other step pulley was included with the sale.
