- This was my 1st piece of owwm. Purchased in 2009 from a tow truck shop. off Richard St. in Santa Clara. Probably paid too much. This Powerrmatic was $200 not running, 3ph, and sitting under hole in a corrugated steel roof. Pretty much everything was rusted which didn't have paint on it as water had been dumping on it for years
Background for this drill was a friend was getting out of WW and kindly. gave me his 70's or 80's Craftsman made in China. or Taiwan. I tried to use if for metal working and the materials and tolerances were very low quality. Delta was mostly foreign made by 2009, PM was going through re-orgs and moving oversees so I looked for a US Made drill and. found this rust Bucket in Santa Clara.
Took about 6mo to restore as had little idea what I was doing. Thanks to great owwm community who patiently answered my questions.
After rebuild the PM runs sewing machine quiet and .00" run out with a dia indicator. Hooked on owwm ever since and the. PM runs like a top. VFD allow me connect a potentiometer for quick sped adjustment and. reverse button.
