Comments:
Purchased this Drill Press from a restaurant equipment mfg which the kids of the owners were liquidating to sell the land. Apparently the shop has served San Francisco Area for 80+ years.
Bought this drill as to make dedicated low speed drill as it had:
a) had power down feed
b) 1140rpm 3ph motor which could be slowed with a vfd
c) Cardinal Gear Reduction pulley assembly, formerly commercially available from industrial supplies
Also, because I worked from 6th grade through school in a similar metal shop in the South Bay and wanted to preserve some of that history.
Plan a full resto as time hopefully allows. So far, just scrubbed and degreased.
