I purch'd this vise from a friend on another wood working forum in 2005 for $50.00 shipping incl. At the time my friend didn't even know what it was when he first spotted it in a bucket at a sale in California. It came with a complete "dog". The wooden jaws are of maple and brazilan cherry (aka Jatoba), the dimensions given above in the machine size entry are of the wooden jaw inserts, not the actual metal jaw. The vise didn't come with a handle so I made my own from a beech dowel and walnut ends. As of 12.22.23 that handle just broke while tightening down a glue up. Now to make another handle.
