Comments:
My neighbor gave me this machine when he moved away. It had been in his basement for years. His house was converted from a large chicken coop and this grinding wheel was some of the farm equipment that was left from the old farm.
I have rebuilt the wooden frame using hickory that I milled myself.
I am looking for the hand crank which would attach to the shaft end on the left side of the stone. The end of the axle is tapered form .5 inch to about 5/8 inch.
I still need to rebuild the arches on each side of the frame and add a water recepticle to hang over the top of the stone. I will also need to flatten the stone a bit. Otherwise it is in working condition and has done a great job on a couple axe blades.
