Comments:
Unless my research is flawed, this is Atlas' first foray into Craftsman branded drill presses. Appears in the 35 and 36 catalogs. There's some unique features with this one. The press doesn't take the chrome spindle cap typical to so many Atlas presses of this period. In the catalogs, the spindle cap appears in 1937. The pulley cover is much more open on the top. It also has vertical motor mount bolts and parallel slots in the work table that petered out in the late 30s. Head casting is MAB BD2 A1. This press is powered by the same General Electric repulsion-induction 1/3hp motor that was on it when it came to me.
