Comments:
I recently acquired this planer from a friend who purchased it from the naval base in Groton Connecticut about ten years ago. I contacted the guys at Newman who said it originally was sold to the U.S. Army and was shipped to Chicago. It is 7.5 HP direct drive and the feed works is driven by the cutter head. I plan on doing a full restoration and using it in my workshop.
