Picked up in a group buy of some equipment in Poughkeepsie, NY. Seller had no prior information. Three things to note, the hazardous location rating, number stamped in key way and the company address on badge is East Springfield, Mass. It runs quiet with a bit of end play.
Edit 3/14/2022 It has been suggested the 1/2 hr duty rating and construction lends the motor to possibly have been used in a early gas pump. IDK

The tell about this motor is where it was made. Springfield, and East Springfield (Chicopee) MA. In 1918 or so, Westinghouse formed a subsidiary, Eastern Westinghouse, and bought two factories in MA, one was an arms producer, another a car maker. They tried, and failed at guns, and sold that factory, and converted the car factory into consumer goods, like motors. And the first commercial radio station. The subsidiary went under in 1926.
