PART 1

I am restoring an 8" Driver Line B735 table saw that was my father's saw. The saw is in good condition with the Driver Line T--1 stand. The stand has a wood top and shelf. In the 1933 Walker Turner catalog there is no B735 table saw listed but there is a T-1 stand with the wood top. In the 1935 and 1936 catalog it appears that the Driver Line was offered and there is the B735 saw and T-1 stand with a wood top. In the 1937 catalog there still is a B735 saw but the stand listed in the T-5 stand with a steel top and shelf. Same for the 1937 WT Driver Line Catalog. There is no B735 saw in the 1938 catalog. The 8" 700 series saw in the 1938 catalog is the B737.

So I assume that the saw was manufactured and sold in 1935 or 1936. There is not a serial number on the saw.

The photo of the saw was taken after I removed the fence and guard. The paint on the saw is in poor condition but under the wood facing on the fence, the paint looked as new. I took the fence to the local Sherwin Williams store and did a computer match on the fence. I used a semi-gloss direct to metal industrial paint. The pencil in the photo "NEW PAINT MATCH" points to the paint spot applied to the fence. An exact match.

On another forum here, it was noted that Benjamin More 1575 Rainy Afternoon was a match for the Driver Line paint. This color is shown in the photo "BENJAMIN MOORE 1575 RAINY AFTERNOON". This is not even a close match for the paint on this saw. Maybe a match for another Walker Turner model or different year.
