When new, this had removable pipe jaws which dropped over the screw. The casting # on base is 3V5502. The jaws are secured with taper head screws (also used on English Woden vises c. 1950).
Except for the name and number, this is identical to the Sears Craftsman "garage vise" sold from spring 1938 through fall 1942 (not available in 1943 due to war), 4 sizes from 3" to 4.5", # 5240, 5242, 5243, 5249.
