This is the only hydraulic press I can recall seeing that was NOT made up of simple steel beams. This one is a good ol' cast iron monster! It's about 7 feet tall, and its ram is 5 inches in diameter. That's a pretty large anvil that's sitting on its table. Somebody has painted 'The Hulk" on it, and that's a pretty good description. I'd guess it weighs well over 1000 pounds. That's the tail of a Piper PA-18 Super Cub in the third picture. The machine is located at the US Department of Interior's Office of Aviation Services, at their Alaska Regional Office in Anchorage, AK.
