This is the completed restoration of the Model 81 Powermatic bandsaw that I purchased from an IRS auction of Russell's Woodcarvings in August 2004. Serial no. is 66-3104. The pictures below are after stripping to bear metal and priming with automotive primer and painting with PPG Industrial enamel matched to Powermatic green. The saw has all new bearing, both upper and lower wheel bearings, new bearings for the orginal Powermatic blade guides, new tires, and replaced the orginal 1 hp motor with 3 hp 3 phase motor and relaced the orginal mechanical starting switch with a magnetic starter. Still need to pick up a fence to make the saw complete, and need to fabricate a door for the base cabinet as you can see in the last picture.
This is sweet saw and is becoming one of my favorite tools in the shop.
