just picked up this complete 144 Oliver jointer off a list. Very nice all original shape. Looking at the catalogs and this model came in 3 variations. with shoulder depth fence and also safety guard as extra options. This did not have those. Has a GE 3 phase motor and switch.. Appears original. Also has very early star adjusting hand adjusting handles. ((Not very many examples of this on this site.)) This machine was repaired before 1971 with a new babbitt bearing, (i believe)by Noble Machines in Fort Wayne Indiana. I just talked to the owner of the Noble repair shop and he states that the red badge was last put on repaired machines in 1971. it also has a four digit serial number. H suggests that this was repaired over 65 years ago.. This machine was found in Warsaw Indiana not that far away from reaper shop. Not much history known, I am at least the 5th owner. Will get up and running. Has the wide belt leather strap pulleys and belt. This machine is extremely heavy and is larger in life. The photos make this seem smaller.
