Lineshaft hanger patented (patent granted) by J E Hoppen in 1896. Consists of pipe threaded into a cast iron base with embossed patent information, large nuts to set the hanger level, top and bottom brackets, and split babbit cup. There are two holes on the top of the babbit cup with a large drain hole on the bottom. It was found in an old blacksmith shop in Ontario Canada cemented to the floor, and was sadly the only one. Other hangers were on the roof, but were all missing their bearing cups.
