While doing some "Ruckering" for Don Simpkins of north Georgia to pick up a Mattison 176 edge sander in Dublin VA I pulled in the parking lot thinking okay in and out, tied down and ready to go in an hour. Don was doing some "Ruckering" for me in Ohio bringing back an Oliver # 66 lathe and a 16hp Gravley riding tractor......
Well I soon forgot about the sander when I saw for the first time in person a Y42 snowflake series bandsaw. I promtly found the person in charge and struck a deal for the Y42, a model RH Tannewitz bandsaw and a Lancaster door clamp for the small amount of travelling money I had in my pocket, literally saved from the scrap bin only a few feet away. One of our own might have the table and trunions for the Tannewitz, if so drop me an email. And the Yates is in very good condition...not for sale by the way.
The plant manager said the buyer of the two 24" E24 tannewitz bandsaws from the auction asked for and received the table, etc. off of the 42" saw hoping to use it on one of his????
Anyway off to pick up an Oliver 26 lathe in PA back late tommorow.I hope the weather will cooperate. Thanks Don and my many thanks to Kirk Poore who helped "Rucker" an Oliver 191 saw from St. Louis
