I've had this machine for nearly a year now and I hesitated to upload pictures of the saw until I really new it was vintage. I am using this saw to build my new shop which is nearly complete but it will be continued to be used for at least the rest of my life and hopefully my son's as well. I acquired this from a very good friend, an OWWM'r from Southern Oregon--TonyS.
I have not given this saw a bit of restoration work except install a new blade. I have been looking for the starter cover (like many are on this list) ... seems the original flew off the machine while in transit (remember to tape these down when you transport them as they must be subjet to road vibration). TonyS came to the rescue just recently and sent me a new cover from an extra motor starter he had leftover--thanks so much Tony!
I need a new dust port, blade guard (chain) and a complete re-lubing, motor bearing check, check of the main arm bearings (however it moves effortlessly), etc. This saw is working just brillantly for the large timbers I need to cut in my pole building shop. A new paint job will be done as well...even though the green and orange look bad, I can't resist repainting with the same colors as I have seen so many with the same color scheme--others swear it should be a shade of gray.
Pictures are from TonyS, I will update when I get this big bad saw into its final place in the new shop.
One final note--if you have never seen a saw like this before in person, you will be amazed at the size of this monster ... it was very scary to power this up the first time.
Best Regards,
Phil K
