From a flea market 5 years ago. The blue paint and white lettering is mine; the only color on it when I acquired it was rust, so I have no idea of the original paint scheme. The current wood handle is also a shop-made replacement. This vise shows up in a 1914 R-W catalog found on archive.org as model 430S size #2.

The castings are massive, and the guide rods and screw are 1 inch diameter. It does not rack at all when gripping an offcenter workpiece. It has a half-nut design for quick open/close. Opens 12 inches wide metal jaw to metal jaw.
