Machine was purchased from an online auction to replace a Delta 8” with the Art Deco base. According to Eagle tools, I acquired it from the same Chicago school district that bought it new in 1948. The jointer is original except for the round handles that a great friend turned. It was purchased with a horrible John Deere paint job and years of dust and grime but taking inspiration from Mike Korsak, I mimicked his black and red paint. Tearing the machine down to the last nut is a lot of work but provides a great lesson in how your machine works. My shop does not have 3ph so I chose to run a 7.5 hp Rotary phase converter. Hope to add a few more solid old tools to the shop once my loving Wife recovers from this one.
