This shaper was built in 1974 so it is not that old but this model was made unchanged for many years. The 287-T is the belt drive version and it has two speeds, 8155 rpm and 3495 rpm. Motor is a Lincoln 5hp 3 ph 3495 rpm with mag starter and reversing switch. Bearings are oil mist lubricated. Spindle is 1" interchangeable, the 1" version has 7" usable under nut length. The table is 42" square and 3.25" thick, heavily ribbed. This one is in real nice condition and it has the original fence, spring hold down/ring guard, and miter guage. This is the only Oliver shaper that I have seen or have seen pictures of that has a miter slot. This is my one and only large machine purchase from ebay.
