Was a pile of parts in a box bought for a few hundred bucks from a machinist in Northern California named Ken Augustine. He had made a name for himself doing porting and polishing work for racing bikes. He lived in his shop and he was quite the hoarder with dozens of Snap On boxes filled with everything you could imagine. He had a gorgeous Korean Dong Yang lathe (licensed copy of an Okuma LS), a couple Bridgeports and a massive Mori Seiki CNC that never moved. He passed away in 2013. No idea what became of the shop. This lathe is somewhat unique in that it has a Woodco DC motor controller. Much like a VFD conversion but from the 1980's, the speed control is infinitely variable. I have rebuilt the gearbox and the apron.
