J.C. Grant Machine Works is a company known for manufacturing machines sold in kit form. This example is a bench top sander/grinder. The manufacturer named it a “GO DEVIL” possibly because it utilized a Dayton 5000 rpm motor. This motor is comely used in sewing machines. This rudimentary machine was probably marketed to the hobby/model maker’s market. It utilizes a 1 ¼” X 22” belt. The belt is tensioned by use of a jack plate spring mechanism. Belt tracking is performed by way of a washer next to the drive wheel.
