purchased in upstate N.Y. 50 years ago from a retired model maker. The lathe has a very smooth and balanced feel when operating. Minor cleaning was done to show original paint and no pitting. This Star lathe was introduced in 1886 in nine inch swing only and redesigned in 1898.
