Local CL find from a son liquidating his grandfather's old wood shop. He had a disc sander, spindle sander, jointer, scroll saw and lathe in addition to this planer (I think he was keeping the table saw for himself - didn't make sense to have all these other tools and not have a table saw). I was after the sanders and the planer but the sanders were gone by the time he got back to me.
No base. Grandfather had made custom benches for each tool. Solid and functional but ugly as sin!
Came with what looks to be an early 1960's Craftsman nameplate 1.5HP motor. Couldn't test it i the storage shed but once I got it home it ran well. Had a bit of trouble spinning everything up with the transmission engaged but, in neutral, seemed sufficient.
Planer itself turns freely a appears complete but for the missing throw-out lever on the transmission. Lots of fairly heavy rust but nothing some TLC and a fresh coat of paint can't fix.
