This is an Oliver 299-T That left the factory with an ITCH carbide cutter head and the optional big Reuland 10 HP cutterhead motor. The 299T’s are known to have a weak feed drive gearbox and when I obtained this 299 from a school auction it was missing the feed gearbox. I installed a larger Winsmith feed gearbox and also replaced the Reeves variable speed drive belt with a fixed Vee belt drive with a VFD drive in order to adjust the feed speed with a simple twist of a knob.

The factory ITCH head was replaced with HERMANCE insert cutter head as the new owned did not want to deal with ever having to grind the ITCH head inserts.

The Planer was fully taken down to the bare castings and rebuilt with all new bearings and drive chain’s. The sectional feed roll and chip break breaker was rebuilt with new springs. All new electrical controls and new paint using Dupont Imron.
