This homemade tablesaw was built by Mike J. Kostiuk of Pine River, Manitoba, a man with a Grade 2 education. He must have learned a great amount outside of school, as this saw demonstrates. He reportedly built other items such as engines and a steel boat.

Note the chain-driven fence adjusted by the hand wheel on the far right of the side table.
