I bought this from a gentleman, who got it from the widow of another gentleman who had worked for Ford in Hopedale, MA. I got it in a batch of 4 other machines. The only marking I've found so far is the retailers plaque. I'm guessing it's from the turn of the century. The motor pictured, and the mount, is obviously tacked on. I think this was originally manufactured for a flat belt, overhead jack-shaft system. The pulley on it that is made for a radial-belt has been added on to the original flat belt pulley.
I'm planning on reworking this machine into a combination disc grinder / bowl lathe. It is particularly suited for this use, and will require only fitting with a motor, removing a disc, and attaching a faceplate. The tool rests are on a solid, 1" steel bar, that slides through the body of the base. I can slide the bar through, and turn the generously sized table at an angle, to create a tool rest. I'll post picks when I'm done.
