I purchased this machine from the carpentry shop of the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History, who bought it new. They couldn't turn up any paperwork for me, but an older gentleman who had been there since 1973 said it predated his tenure by "at least 30 years". Based on what we know about Hall and Brown, it had probably been there since the 20s when this machine was most likely made. This saw was not being used much and a recent OSHA inspection had put it on the chopping block. I took a trailer on a family vacation to see in inlaws in Temecula, CA and quietly made the trailer around 1700lb heavier on the return trip. It could use new paint, but is in excellent operational condition and came with both miter gauges, quadrant, saw blades, and fence.

With the miter gauge extended out of the table about 4", you can crosscut a 4x8 sheet of plywood with the sliding table. There is room for a 20" blade to sink below the table, but the biggest blade that came with it is 18".
