I purchased this near Bainbridge,N.Y. And really didn’t get any information about it other than it was going to be scrapped. The motor and gears are removed and a pulley was mounted on the center of the shaft. An external motor and speed system is mounted on the outside. I had the shaft cut to run modern 1 inch 8 TPI because the shaft in it had 1 1/4” 11.5 TPI pipe threads on it and were ruined with a pipe wrench. I removed, cleaned, repacked the bearings which have felt oil seals on outer case. I’m currently in the process of stripping, lubing, painting it and getting it working again.
I’m at a loss for the year. It has a tag for the original motor, it was a Howell Motor, Red Band model .6 hp
Any help identifying this lathes year and anything more about it would be greatly appreciated!
