I purchased this machine from a gentleman in northern Ohio who said that he had acquired it through a package deal and had never used it. At the time, I had a 1928 72-D and I jumped at the chance to upgrade to the newer, better version of this fine machine. In addition to the wheel that lowers the spindle (instead of only a foot pedal on the 72-D), this model has more slots in the table, an upgraded table trunnion (one knob to adjust the angle, versus two on the older model), a removable table height adjust handle that can be operated from the front of the machine, a removable/adjustable foot pedal, an MT2 spindle (versus the straight bore of the older model), a 2-speed motor and a handbrake.
