Acquired with other line shaft machines from closed down furniture factory in upstate N.Y.No name or markings on machine but matches other Levi Houston mortiser listed under this manfacturer.Machine was hooked up and in working condition when picked up.The table
raises and lowers to make cut instead of mortiser bit and head coming down to work piece.
the table tilts 45 degrees left or right and moves in and out to center up work piece.The mortiser is simple in design and operation.Babbit is also in very good condition and there is no play in the shafts.The owners son told me his father acquired
this machines 30 to 40 years ago and he remembers pouring new babbit in the machines that needed it when he was a kid with his father.Since I already own a Wysong & Miles 284
mortiser I will be selling this one and a few of the other machines from this haul.
