I got this at an estate sale of a family friend back in the late 1970s. I am sure it is repainted because all the tools he had in his shop were painted this color. I could not find any manufacturers identification on the tool but all the parts have ID of LC-12XX. After looking through the photos on this site, I am pretty sure it is a Herberts Manufacturing Co. lathe of the Wood Wizard series and about 1933. Shortly after I got it, I replaced the headstock bearings with new timkin sealed ball bearings. I am hoping to get it set up and functioning soon in the new shop space I am working in. Oh, I am not sure if the cross vise/tool holder is meant for this machine but I got it with it and it fits perfectly on the bed of the lathe. I realize it is not a woodworking lathe accessory, but it may be useful for some small detail work.
