Comments:
I had seen this Unisaw some years ago when it was used in a working wood shop. In later years the wood shop virtually closed down and the unisaw was moved to an external location where it was left to the ravages of the weather and damp conditions. It also was badly maintained and was slowly deteriorating into a pile of scrap. I tried to negotiate with the owner to sell me the machine but he would not budge so I left it to its fate. However the owner died in very unfortunate circumstances and remembering the unisaw made enquiries as to what was happening to it. Initially it was tied up with the estate so all I could do was make it known I was interested in purchasing. Nothing happened for months but I received a surprise telephone call that the unisaw was to be scrapped and if I wanted it I should go and collect it asap. All that was required was that I make a nominal donation to the estate. I immediately went and collected the unisaw and set about reviving the hulk.
There was no badge on this machine so its date of manufacture cannot be ascertained but Made in Milwaukee is indicated on the Tilt Angle Badge. An attempt is being made to access spares to replace what is broken on the Unisaw.
