I saved it from a scrap pile. The original cast iron stand was given to someone only a few weeks prior to my finding the lathe. It is a very early Lot 4. I have the change gears, the original and rare Draw bar for the collets. Once I did the tear down, I had to repair the carriage which had suffered from a crash. The gears were broken and the apron was crashed through. I also did the standard upgrades with bearings to the cross feed removing backlash, added needle bearings to the spindle to remove end-play, added a newer cross feed dial. I had to reproduce the missing gear covers and end door, made a new stand and now this lathe is working very nicely.
