Comments:
Puchased from a fellow member of the Marin Amateur Radio Society after casual discussion at the club summer picnic. It seems that there is a common interest in using and restoring old, heavy technologies such as “Arn” and “Boatanchors” (older radios that exceed 50 in either age or weight, usually both)
This lathe appears to have seen very little use. The Delta serial number registry dates it’s manufactured date as 1971, before the mid 70s cost reductions, though the plastic tailstock wheel and the welded steel stand are early portents.
It came with 6” faceplate (with incomplete bowl attached), 3” faceplate, drive center, Cup center, cone center, 4” tool rest, 6” offset tool rest, 12” tool rest, tool support base, 9 Henry Taylor turning tools in original packaging, Delta book “The Lathe”, and a homemade disk sanding setup.
My wife and I am taking a turning class at the local high school and making lots of sawdust.
