Comments:
This is the fifth one of these small bench shapers that has shown up so far, and the third in Oregon. Based on the three-digit serial number these are very early D&W machines. Two of the machines so far examined feature badges by Consolidated Machinery, but this one has no badge.
The three piece cast iron fence appears to be original based on the paint, alignment with the tapped holes in the table, and casting quality. Any other information related to this first known-to-us example of this fence would be appreciated.
Edit: the cast iron shaper fence has been identified as a Rodgers product. Another Los Angeles company with a comparable lineup of woodworking machines. http://www.vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/images/31486-B.jpg
