I bought this drill press off the Grandson of the origninal owner. The drill press had been stashed away and little used since the 1960's. It had the orignal factory finish although somewhat tired and a bit rusty. Sure beats taking that school shop green off! It has been cleaned up and repainted.

The bearings were good and runout on the spindle is inside 0.002". The original 1/2 HP R.I. was swaped out with a freshly seviced 1 HP R.I. motor of the same vintage. I had the broken clamp ring and a crack in one of the potty metal side guards welded up. There was no serial number tag placed on the machine so my best guess on the vintage is 1939 based on the belt guards, star knob on the depth gage and the motor type.
