This is a Jeannin dual voltage single phase 5 HP repulsion induction motor. It was manufactured by the Jeannin Electric Company in Toledo Ohio. The company officially started operations in 1915/1916 and the first patents were issued in late 1916. Since the motor ID plate says "Patent Pending", I suspect that this was one of the first electric motors that the company produced in 1916. And surprisingly, it runs.
