Bought in September 2011 for a man in Bowie, Maryland. He bought it 2 years prior and didn't do anything with it so he sold it to me. Similarly it has sat for almost 7 years until it has just now been put into working condition. I rewired the motor switch and the lamp. There was a Rockwell magnetic switch that was removed by myself as it just seemed as easy to reach and turn the lever on the motor, it looks "cleaner" to me. I do not know why the original base has a notch cut into it (switch?) in the front of the stand. It is a good machine for grand children to use and learn.
