Picked this up yesterday 7/12/18. Found on CL. Family sold it to me due to original owner passing. Might have paid a little to much ($200) but fell in love with it. Other then that don’t know any other history. If someone would help me as to telling me what the top piece is for would greatly appreatiate it. Originally planned to do a restore however been thing keeping paint as is. And just seal it. Keeps growing on me. It is fully operational. But will change out bearings and new lubricant. Has a Dunlap 1/3 hp motor.

(Admin BAK 7/12/2018: This drill appears to have Craftsman version base. The top column attachment might have been a mounting device for special application or manufacturing set-up.)
