This is not my lathe. I saw it for sale on the Ottawa kijiji, and obtained permission from the seller to add these pictures here. Original description in the ad: "for sale selson metal lathe 13 in. by 30 in. 6 speed gear head. 3/4 hp. 110 volt motor". That's it.

By comparing this lathe to those from makers known to have supplied Selson—who were retailers and "badge engineers" and not manufacturers—it appears to be from Simplex of Ohio. But Simplex were themselves more of an assembly shop than a build-from scratch manufacturer so it's hard to be sure. This lathe bed and headstock are similar to known Simplex lathes but the tailstock and gearbox don't match anything we found.

The lathe sold within a day or so. I hope the new buyer takes more and better pictures and creates a new Photo Index entry.
