I acquired this 30" bandsaw in 2002. It originally came from a wood boat builder's shop in 1990 located at Bobcaygeon, Ontario in the north Kawartha Lakes area. It has a very heavy cast iron "C" frame, and weighs about 1,500 lbs. (I'm guessing). I restored the saw to put into use in my private shop. I've made several changes ... added 6" risers to raise the table height to a comfortable 42", fabricated a motor mount, and built a full width inner table to replace the small 12"x12" inner table that came with the saw. The table surface is now almost 40" x 30". It was originally a wide belt driven saw, but is now converted over to electric with a 1.5hp motor. The cast wheels will take blades up to 1.5" wide, and in it's current pulley setup runs at 3,600 sfpm.
The thought of standing in front of this saw with a 15 foot blade running 3,600 sfpm with no guards was too much. I therefore designed and built full wheel, blade and pulley guards for the saw. I also fabricated a friction brake and added a counter-weight on a chain for the blade guide assembly. It goes up a lot easier now!
If anyone knows anything about this manufacturer, please contact me.
