Picked up this 1930’s Craftsman band saw, model 102.01121, from Craigslist for $90. I already have a newer style 14” band saw but this little gem caught my eye. Mainly because it has a unique pulley reduction that takes the speed down to 38 rpm’s. I wanted a saw to cut metal not wood. The pulley reduction is perfect for that. It can also be easily converted back to fast speed by changing the belt. I purchased a 14 TPI bi-metal blade for cutting metal and it was ready to go. The only thing I did was to paint the guards gray to give the red some contrast. Works great.
