This machine was purchased by my dad from John Bartel Hardware in Newport Minnesota. It was given to me in 2010 when my dad was 87. Sometime in the 70's a kickback broke the blade guard and the mount on the motor housing. I was able to find one S/N 538704 with a burned out motor and transfer the blade guard and motor housing from it to this saw.
This saw has been used to build multiple houses, furniture and spent 10 years travelling around the country with my dad working on Habitat houses. It has been restored, works as well as it did when new and even though it was never a great machine it has sentimental value to me and now has a prominent place in my shop.
